Engineered Products Division of Quanex Corporation Opens West Coast Facility
HOUSTON, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Quanex Corporation (NYSE: NX) announced today that its Engineered Products division is opening a facility located in Hood River, Oregon to support its HOMESHIELD product lines based in Chatsworth, Illinois. Engineered Products will fabricate and assemble parts for window manufacturers in Oregon and other Western locations. The facility is expected to open in January 2004.
Engineering Products is pursuing its strategy of providing enhanced service to its customers, some of whom have recently located in this region. "We anticipate significant growth within our West Coast market and believe the timing is right to open a facility there," Jim Gulliford, President of Engineered Products said. "It is advantageous to establish this location in order to provide the quick response capability our customers expect from us and to more effectively align our distribution. Engineered Products' HOMESHIELD operations, located in Chatsworth, Illinois, is a vertically integrated window components producer manufacturing window frames, spacers, screens and muntin.
